RATHKEALE COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The next meeting of Rathkeale Council will be held on Tuesday 31st March at 8.15 p.m. in the sheltered housing complex, Court Villas, Rathkeale. Members of the public are requested to attend and if anyone has issues or questions then you are welcome to attend and air your views. This is the place to say what you have to say so use the opportunity wisely.

O’SULLIVAN HITS THE TARGET

Congratulations to Ian O’Sullivan, Ballyillian, who returned from Nottingham, Derbyshire District championship U.K. on the 15th March. He shot 95 over 100 and won the under 21s championship, then came 3rd overall, with over 100 competitors in the field. Well done Ian.

JUNE 2009 LOCAL ELECTION CANDIDATES

John Sheehan, Joe Wallace, Kevin Sheehan, David Naughton, Michael Mulchair, John Daly, Seamus Hogan. We have had a Councillor in Rathkeale town for a hundred years, John Griffin serving for 30 years. John Daly and Seamus Hogan are our candidates for 2009 and we need a sitting Councillor in our town. The electorate know what they have to do to make sure we get a sitting Councillor living in Rathkeale.

RATHKEALE PLAYGROUND COMMITTEE

Rathkeale Playground committee would like to thank all those who contributed to their Church Gate collection last weekend and the collectors.

WILMOT-O’CONNOR WEDDING

On Saturday 14th March last Marguerite Wilmot daughter of Michael and Carmel Wilmot of Kyletaun married Paul O’Connor son of Tom and Marian O’Connor, Lisbare, Shanagolden. The nuptial mass was celebrated by Canon Joe Dempsey, Fr. Willie Russell, and Fr. Denis Mullane. The chief bridesmaid was Nikita Wilmot, with Lauren Wilmot as bridesmaid, nieces of the bride. Best man was Dermot O’Connor; Kevin O’ Connor was groomsman, both brothers of the groom. Flower girls were, Isabelle Swan, and Roisin Jordan, Page boys were Rian Duggan and Luke Reid. The soloist was Bernadette Hayes and group. The reception was held in Rathkeale House Hotel. Dance music was provided by Keep in touch. The happy couple are honeymooning in Orlando and New York. Marguerite and Paul are wished health and happiness and a long life.

DOMINICAN BIBLE INSTITUTE CECIL ST. LIMERICK

April 2nd at 7.30 p.m. Pastoral workers in parishes in West Clare Maureen Kelly has involved in Pastoral Ministry in Ireland and overseas with Adapt Services for women and children who experience domestic abuse.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

The committee of the St. Patrick’s Day parade 2009 would like to thank all those who participated in the Parade, what fantastic from the community groups, sports groups and business again this year. The Parade is growing and had 85 participants his year and hopefully it will continue to grow in 2010. We would also like to thank the spectators from he community and surrounding communities for their brilliant support on the day. Thank to the Garda Siochana St. |John’s Ambulance and Fas for the help on the day and the lead up to the day. Also thanks to the judges and officials on the day for their support.

Sponsored by Morris Clarke of the Blueberry Art Gallery in Patrickswell. The 1st prize winners will have there art displayed in the Blueberry Art Gallery. A professional Artist will evaluate the winner’s pictures and prizes will be awarded at the gallery over the coming weeks information will be given to the winner’s school.
